In December 2015, the fifth issue of the journal Drugs – Policies and Practices was published, with the issue topic: “Why is education important?”
This edition of “Drugs – Policies and Practices” endeavors to maintain awareness about the reasons for the existence of this magazine and also to explicate our attitude to education. We do not only understand education as a process of acquiring knowledge within the family or at school. We understand education as an overall process of acquiring knowledge from all the sources available and conscious processing of information obtained, benefiting individuals as well as the community. Therefore we strive for ever-expanding opportunities for formal and informal education and access to diverse sources of relevant information. We believe that versatile education contributes to the development of social consciousness and, among other things, awareness of the need to introduce humane drug policies.
